| | 5 DAY AUSTRALIAN HORSEMANSHIP AND BUSH SKILLS Duration 5 days Cost This program is being reviewed - updates soon. Based at the homestead yards with two days out in the bush, this program is designed especially to introduce young travelers and Australians to the skills, challenges and joys of handling, riding, and traveling remote country with horses in an Australian bush environment. Learn all about safe handling and management of horse stock, preparing for overnight and longer camping trips with horses, planning for and using packhorses, the horse camp, cooking with fire, emergency hoof care, saddle repairs and maintenance and a swag of other skills and hints. You will be accommodated in a camp set up behind the yards, with most of the experiences either around the campfire or in the horse yards. You will then work as a team to prepare and pack out for an overnight camp in the Alpine National Park. Dates: No dates set. Top |

These rides feature access into remote mountain areas and itineraries and routes may be changed without notice due to severe environmental and weather events. All rides include meals, horses, saddlery, guides, group camping equipment (for camping rides), first-aid, mobile phone contact, National Park fees and 4WD backup where appropriate.
