One with the lot, including a rest day in a high mountain camp and featuring Young's Tops, the mountain home of the brumbies, Mount Fainter Range, Bogong Jack's hideout, Tawonga Huts, Pretty Valley and a traverse of Victoria’s highest mountain, Mount Bogong. Following tracks cut into mountain sides over 100 years ago, in search of gold and cattle grazing, our packhorses take you on a true heritage experience.

A mountain of experiences jammed into four days. Easter break adventure in the Bogong area of the Alpine National Park. Four days or riding the best of the High Country, including Mount Fainter and Pretty Valley. Beautiful camps and High Plains canters. Spend five days in the mountains, learning about horses, their behavior and how we can benefit as horse riders. We will be focusing on skills associated with using packhorses in mountain country and camping with horses in remote environments.This ride will include The Bogong High Plains, Kelly's Hut and the rugged tracks leading onto Mount Bogong.

Presented by master horseman Wayne Banney in conjunction with our renowned guiding and hospitality. Talk to us about bringing your own horse. Limited places, so book early.

5 DAY AUSTRALIAN HORSEMANSHIP AND BUSH SKILLS

Based at the homestead yards with two days out in the bush, this program is designed especially to introduce young travelers and Australians to the skills, challenges and joys of handling, riding, and traveling remote country with horses in an Australian bush environment. Learn all about safe handling and management of horse stock, preparing for overnight and longer camping trips with horses, planning for and using packhorses, the horse camp, cooking with fire, emergency hoof care, saddle repairs and maintenance and a swag of other skills and hints. You will be accommodated in a camp set up behind the yards, with most of the experiences either around the campfire or in the horse yards. You will then work as a team to prepare and pack out for an overnight camp in the Alpine National Park.

All rides from our stables at Spring Spur, Mountain Creek Rd - Tawonga Map

These rides feature access into remote mountain areas and itineraries and routes may be changed without notice due to severe environmental and weather events.

All rides include meals, horses, saddlery, guides, group camping equipment (for camping rides), first-aid, mobile phone contact, National Park fees and 4WD backup where appropriate.
